Carla fought Ovarian Germ Cell Cancer from January of 1999 till February 3rd, 2000. This dreadful disease turned the lives of Carla and her children into a nightmare of day to day living and changes which no family should ever have to endure. The shock of learning she had the disease, surgery, Chemotherapy, time away from family and friends, dreadful sickness, remission, new tumors, more chemo, drastic treatment (Bone Marrow Transplant Stem Cell Therapy) more sickness, it just went on and on. Carlas stoicism throughout this ordeal remained nothing short of inspirational.
..."this precious treasure - this light and power that now shine within us - is held in a perishable container, that is, in our weak bodies. Everyone can see that the glorious power within must be from God and is not our own. We are pressed on every side by troubles, but are not crushed and broken. We are perplexed because we don't know why things happen as thy do, but we don't give up and quit. We are hunted down, but God never abandons us. We get knocked down, but we get up again and keep going"...
2 Corinthians 4:7-9
" And God
will wipe away every tear from their eyes,
there shall be no more death, nor sorrow,
nor crying; and there shall be no more pain,
for the former things have passed away."
Revelation 21:4
